have tried to indicate their most suitable use and any restrictions.
Beginners
The following services are ideal if you don't have a merchant account with your bank and need a complete
bureau service which also integrates with all the popular shopping carts programs/software. These services are
ideal for customers using shared hosting plans. The companies host the SSL pages for you which take the
card details.

ST-Account
This service from SecureTrading is a bureau service which allows you to configure your shopping cart to use the
SecureTrading secure payment pages (SSL protected). They can usually tell you within 48 hours of application
if you have been approved. This service also may be suitable for established companies who just can't get
an Internet Merchant account due to their high risk business.

Intermediate
Here are a mixture of services for established users or developers with some knowledge of card payments.

ST-Payment Pages
This service is similar to the SecureTrading ST-Account service, however this service requires you have
your own Internet Merchant Account. SSL pages are still hosted on SecureTrading's secure servers.

Protx VP-Direct
The service allows you to configure your shopping cart and take your payments on our servers via an SSL
certificate. You then pass the credit card details through a secure link to Protx. This service from
Protx requires the installation of a program on the server. This has been installed on all Business hosting
shared servers and Semi-Dedicated servers.

HSBC Secure ePayments CPI
The service allows you to configure your shopping cart and take your payments on our servers via an SSL
certificate. You then pass the credit card details through a secure link to HSBC. This service from
HSBC requires the installation of a program on the server. This has been installed on all Business hosting
shared servers and Semi-Dedicated servers. You will need to have your own Internet Merchant Account
with HSBC.

Advanced
For advanced customers who need to perform transactions over and above normal payments from their own
custom shopping cart, then these may apply.

ST-XPay
The XPay service allows you to take payment details on your secure server and process them through the
SecureTrading payment gateway. The gateway uses XML for the best interoperability. Customers using this
service will need a dedicated server and an SSL certificate for their website. The server must also be
behind a firewall for security reasons. This is not a bureau service and therefore an Internet Merchant
account is also needed.
